EQBase is built to know as little about you as possible. There is no account to create, and the app works fully offline.
Your audio never leaves your Mac
EQBase processes system audio locally, in real time. No audio content, recordings, or information about what you listen to is ever collected, stored, or transmitted.
What the app sends, and when
- License activation and validation. If you buy Pro, the app periodically sends your license key and a device instance identifier to Lemon Squeezy's license service to confirm the license is active. That is the entire payload: no personal data, no usage data.
- Update checks. The app fetches a version feed from updates.eqbase.app to see if a newer build exists. This is an ordinary HTTPS request; we don't log or profile it.
- Crash reports and metrics, off by default. EQBase collects nothing unless you explicitly turn it on in Settings. If you enable automatic crash reports, a redacted crash report (stack trace, app and macOS version, no audio, no personal data) is sent to Sentry, our crash-reporting processor, when the app crashes. Reports are redacted on your Mac before they leave, and you can turn it off at any time.
Purchases
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as the merchant of record. Your name, email, and billing details are handled by them under their privacy policy; EQBase receives only your license key status, never your payment details.
Permissions the app asks for
macOS will ask you to approve audio capture; that's how EQBase receives system audio to process. This permission is used solely for real-time processing on your machine.
This website
eqbase.app is a static site. It sets no cookies and runs no trackers. Your light/dark theme choice is stored on your device (localStorage) and never sent anywhere. To count visits we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless measurement tool that records page views without fingerprinting you, identifying you, or following you across sites.
